Why the blue cart?
White office paper is a high-grade fibre that can become new printing paper and tissue. Metal bits like staples are pulled out by magnets and screens during pulping, so you don’t need to remove them.
Get it right
- Envelopes, sticky notes and file folders can all go in with it.
- Shredded paper is the exception — bag it in paper first so it doesn’t scatter (see the shredded paper entry).
- Paper with confidential info? Shred it rather than tossing it whole — identity thieves read garbage too.
