Blue cart — Recycling
Recycle in the blue cart — glossy paper is accepted.
Also searched as: magazine, catalogue, catalog.
Why the blue cart?
Glossy coated paper is de-inked and recycled into lower-grade paper products. Modern mills handle the clay coating on magazine stock without trouble, so there’s no need to separate glossy from plain paper.
Get it right
- Staples and glued bindings are fine — they’re removed during pulping.
- Remove any plastic mailing wrap and sample sachets before recycling.
- Consider cancelling unwanted catalogues at the source — the greenest magazine is the one never printed.
