Calgary drop-off depots: where "not in the cart" items actually go

When our bin lookup says "Depot" or "Special handling", this is the page that tells you where to take it — most of it is free.

Eco Centres — free for residents

Each of Calgary's three landfills has an Eco Centre where residents drop off hazardous and electronic waste at no charge:

• Spyhill — 11808 69 Street N.W. (Mon–Sat 7:30–5)
• East Calgary — 3020 68 Street S.E. (weekdays from 6 a.m.; summer weekends)
• Shepard — 12111 68 Street S.E. (Mon–Sat 7:30–5)

Fire-station hazardous-waste depots

Eight designated Calgary fire stations also take household hazardous waste for free — handy if a landfill trip is out of your way. Locations are listed on calgary.ca/hhw (they occasionally change, so check before driving).

What's free vs. charged

Free programs are residential-only; keep hazardous products sealed and labelled in original containers, don't mix chemicals, and box everything upright for the drive.
