Calgary holiday garbage schedule 2026

Calgary collects carts on almost every statutory holiday, so most residents simply follow their usual schedule. This page combines the City’s cart and landfill holiday schedules in one table.

Upcoming holidays

“No change” means follow your usual address schedule. It does not mean every household has a pickup that day; check your own collection day.

Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

These are the only dates in the City’s 2026 table still marked “to be determined” for cart collection. All three City landfills (Spyhill, Shepard and East Calgary) are closed on December 25 and January 1. We do not guess replacement pickup dates; this page will be updated when the City publishes its arrangements. Check the City’s holiday announcement before those dates.

On Boxing Day, December 26, cart collection is unchanged and the landfills are open, but the industrial waste area at Shepard is closed.

Is garbage collected on Remembrance Day?

Yes. Wednesday, November 11, 2026, has no change to cart collection, and all three City landfills are open.

Apartments, condos and businesses

Buildings with a private collector may follow a different holiday schedule. Ask your building manager or collection provider.

Look up your service address to see your next dates. If a date falls outside the published schedule window, check the City’s schedule. Missed pickup steps · Christmas tree disposal · Landfill hours today
