A useful guide to Calgary collection

GarbageCalgary.ca helps residents find cart dates, sort everyday items and choose an appropriate disposal location. It is an independent service, with no affiliation or endorsement from the City of Calgary.

Where the schedule comes from

Address and route records come from the City’s open data. We calculate upcoming dates only within the published schedule periods and show source freshness and coverage in schedule results. An import time tells you when the data was retrieved; it does not guarantee that every future change or live service disruption is included.

The City’s schedule and alerts remain the authoritative source. If an address is missing or its dates are not published, we direct you there instead of guessing.

How disposal guidance is reviewed

Item answers and guides link to the specific City waste pages used in their review. A review date means those sources were checked on that date. Category pages are used where they explicitly cover a group of materials; special cases have their own source links.

Every item answer was re-checked against the City’s current pages on October 5, 2026, after the October 1 blue-cart changes. We record each review and rule change in a dated update log, and landfill hours and holiday arrangements are re-checked whenever the City announces a seasonal change.

We distinguish current instructions from announced future changes. For example, the October 2026 recycling changes have an effective date, while unannounced holiday and seasonal program dates remain unconfirmed. Fees and facility access can change, so location guides link to the live City information.

Corrections and accountability

Report an incorrect answer through our contact page or email [email protected]. Include the page address, the statement that needs review and a current official source when available. Collection service requests must go to the City; this site cannot dispatch a truck or replace a cart.

Funding and privacy

The lookup and guides are free to use. Advertising helps support the site. Ads do not determine disposal instructions. Read our privacy policy for information about saved addresses, contact messages and advertising cookies.
