Boxboard: blue cart
Blue cart — Recycling
Flatten empty cereal, cracker, pasta, tissue and shoe boxes and put them in the blue cart. Pull out the inner liner bag and recycle it separately.
How to prepare it
- Recycle cereal and cracker liner bags loose in the blue cart with other plastic bags; they no longer need to be bundled.
- Tear the plastic window out of pasta boxes, tissue boxes and similar packaging and put it in the blue cart separately.
- Medicine, soap, hair dye, pancake mix and dryer sheet boxes count as boxboard too, as do paper towel and toilet paper rolls.
- Flatten each box so more fits and everything stays inside the cart with the lid closed.
Good to know
Only the packaging belongs in the blue cart, so empty out any remaining product first. A box covered in food or grease goes in the green cart with other food-soiled paper. If your cart is full, take extra boxes to a community recycling depot rather than leaving them beside the cart.
