Flatten and recycle in the blue cart. Remove any plastic liner.

Why the blue cart?
Thin boxboard — cereal, cracker, tissue and shoe boxes — is recycled into new boxboard and paperboard. The plastic liner bag inside cereal boxes is a different material and has to be separated before pulping.
Get it right
- Flatten boxes so they don’t nest together and trap other recyclables inside.
- The inner liner bag goes in your bag of bags if clean, or the black cart if crumb-coated.
- Pop-out windows on pasta or tissue boxes are fine to leave — small plastic film windows are removed at the mill.
