Why the blue cart?
Steel and aluminum cans are the most efficiently recycled items in the cart — magnets grab the steel, eddy currents flick out the aluminum, and recycling aluminum saves about 95% of the energy of smelting new metal.
Get it right
- A quick rinse prevents odours and keeps the bale clean.
- You can drop the lid inside the can and pinch the rim so it stays put.
- Pop and beer cans are deposit containers — return them to a bottle depot for the refund if you prefer.
