Drinkware, Pyrex and tempered glass are not recyclable — wrap broken pieces and place in the black cart.

Why the black cart?
Drinkware and bakeware are made from tempered or borosilicate glass, which melts at a different temperature than bottle glass. Even a little mixed in can ruin an entire batch of recycled container glass, so it’s excluded outright.
Get it right
- Wrap broken glass in a few layers of paper or box it before it goes in the black cart, to protect collection staff.
- Intact glassware is welcome at donation shops — recycle through reuse instead.
